Cairo Knife Fight started as a six piece but since the release of their debut album 'Iron' the band have scaled back to a duo. Live performances are now a hectic mix of drums, keyboard bass and live looping topped off with blistering guitar and backing vocals.
Formed in 2007 the band has performed alongside Anika Moa, Paul McLaney, Motorcade and The Tutts. 2009 saw the release of their debut album 'Iron' and critical acclaim has followed. Their hugely successful album release tour was their first in the new duo lineup.
Pushing the boundaries of what two people can achieve on one stage and making a glorious noise while doing it..
"Cairo Knife Fight is a captivating mix of heart, soul and rhythm" Vicki Anderson The Press
"Nick is surely well on his way to being considered an iconic kiwi musician. 'Iron' is an album of depth, tension and vulnerability, each carefully crafted song with its own finely textured atmosphere" Lydia Jenkin New Zealand Musician.
